The Kiel-based company fluxx.com AG was able to maintain its steady growth in the 2000 financial year. According to the provisional, unaudited key financial figures, gross consolidated sales rose by 152 percent from DM 26.1 million (EUR 13.3 million) to DM 65.7 million (EUR 33.6 million). The lottery and betting sales included in this figure, which were handled by the company's services jaxx.de, horses.de, lotto-sh.de and Telewette, actually rose by 288 percent from DM 8.4 million (EUR 4.3 million) to DM 32.6 million (EUR 16.7 million). Net sales revenues totalled DM 33.1 million (EUR 16.9 million), compared with DM 17.7 million (EUR 9.0 million) in the previous year (up 87 percent), and therefore coincide with the expectations voiced at the time of the initial public offering in September 1999 and the analysts' forecasts.
Expenses for marketing and sales for the company's own gambling services, as well as consultancy costs, were the main causes of the slightly higher loss before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) of DM -14.3 million (EUR -7.3 million), compared with DM -12.2 million (EUR -6.2 million) in the previous year. Including depreciation and amortisation totalling DM 3.2 million (EUR 1.6 million), EBIT is DM -17.6 million (EUR -9.0 million), which is within the range predicted by analysts.
Measures aimed at significantly improving the costs structure have been launched for the current year, in an effort to attain the break-even point earlier than was predicted at the time of IPO. The continuing expansion of the fluxx.com Group has meanwhile been secured by credit arrangements to the tune of DM 15 million (EUR 7.6 million).
