Graz (euro adhoc) - Graz, June 2, 2010. International technology Group ANDRITZ has been awarded an order by Holmen AB´s subsidiary Iggesund Paperboard to supply a 2,400 t/d High Energy Recovery Boiler (HERB) to the Iggesund mill in Sweden. In terms of its power-to-heat ratio, the new boiler will be the most efficient recovery boiler in the world. Start-up of the boiler will be in the second quarter of 2012.

The new boiler will increase Iggesund´s electricity production from 210 to 520 GWh/a. The investment is part of an energy efficiency program to make the Iggesund mill energy self-sufficient. The investment will also provide the conditions for the mill to operate without using any fossil fuels.

ANDRITZ PULP & PAPER´s delivery also includes process and building instrumentation and electrification for the boiler, process control systems for the boiler island, as well as process simulator and process control solutions.
