Möglingen (euro adhoc) - Despite the current economic crisis, the market for solutions to optimize the life-cycles of IT equipment, from procurement to disposal, is growing rapidly.

In fact, the analysts at the international market research company Forrester Research have noted a 24% growth in this segment from 2008 to 2009 alone. Worldwide, the proceeds from such services is expected to increase to 1.04 billion USD in 2009. The April 2009 report titled The Forrester Wave™: IT Asset Life-Cycle Management, Q2 2009, also names USU as a leader in this market. In "The Forrester Wave" report, the analysts evaluated software manufacturers with respect to their current offering, strategy and market presence. According to the report´s summary "USU software is extremely function-rich and able to compete well with the rest of the full-blown IT asset life-cycle management and IT service management (ITSM) suites out there".

The Forrester ITALM Wave report evaluated the software offered by 11 manufacturers. The report applies 81 criteria in investigating all processes that are relevant to the life-cycle of IT assets. Among them are important disciplines such as procurement functionality, vendor management, license management and contract management, all of which companies can use to bring about real, comprehensive cost savings.

USU was the only European provider among the companies examined. Forrester´s analysts rated Valuemation® as follows: "It offers a complete suite of fully integrated solutions that closely follows the ITIL® model of IT service management, with ITALM as part of the solution set. The solution has strong financial management capabilities."

Forrester also recognized USU´s international strategy: "The company has a very strong presence in EMEA, especially in Germany, but is pushing to increase its market presence in North America. (…) This German company is continuously expanding and improving its solution set. The company just recently hired a new vice president who will work on aggressively expanding USU´s presence into North America and other countries in Europe."
