intec presents new xDSL and ISDN testers - from entry-level to high-end models

Lüdenscheid (ots)

At CeBIT 2005, intec presents a number of
additions to its ARGUS portfolio, which includes testers for all of
the usual access types - from POTS and ISDN to ADSL and SHDSL. A
total of three new ARGUS products - positioned in entirely different
price categories - can be examined at the fair: the ARGUS 145 and
ARGUS 200 combi-testers which feature extra convenience and
flexibility with a range of options, as well as the ARGUS 4, an
economical handheld tester for ADSL accesses.
Premiering at CeBIT: the ARGUS 100 and 200 series
The ARGUS 145 and ARGUS 200 combi-testers are the first members of
the new ARGUS 100 and 200 series. The entirely new concept
convincingly combines a comprehensive range of test functions for a
broad spectrum of interfaces with a high level of operator
convenience and the greatest possible flexibility (with options for
numerous functions). Among the features are:
  • a USB interface for faster data transfer between the tester and PC or notebook - for example when loading software updates or transferring the stored data from measurements made earlier. The 200 tester also has a Bluetooth interface and both models have a 100BaseT LAN interface
  • larger displays: The new 100 series testers have a large graphic display for 8 x 21 characters, while the 200 series testers offer the convenience of a 1/4-VGA (320x240 pixels) TFT colour display
  • at least 32MB of data memory
  • conveniently powered from the mains adapter or standard accumulators
Furthermore, besides the well-known measurement functions, they
also offer tests for other protocols such as VoIP and are ready to
support future technologies such as Video-on-Demand and Triple Play.
ARGUS 200
The ARGUS 200, the new flagship of the ARGUS portfolio, is an
ISDN-xDSL combi-tester for the particularly demanding. It offers not
only a comprehensive range of test functions for POTS, U-interface,
BRI, E1, PRI and SHDSL accesses, but also optional test routines for
ADSL, ADSL2/ ADSL2+ and X.21/V.35 interfaces and ATM/IP tests and
V5.x monitoring. Additional functions, for example to support Triple
Play or VoIP, can be easily added at any time as software
extensions.
ARGUS 145
The standard ARGUS 145 also supports a broad spectrum of
measurement functions: It can perform measurements on SHDSL, ADSL,
ADSL2 and ADSL2+ as well as on POTS, U-interface and BRI accesses. A
VoIP terminal simulation and statistic functions are available as
options.
The economical entry-level ADSL tester - the ARGUS 4
The new entry-level ADSL tester, the ARGUS 4, is proof that ADSL
measurement technology for demanding applications need not cost a
fortune. It measures among others the maximum ADSL data rate and line
parameters such as the signal-to-noise ratio and the up and
downstream attenuation. Furthermore, it also has a trace function and
supports an automatic test sequence with all of its primary
functions. With the optional test routines for POTS, BRI and
U-interface accesses, the fully-equipped ARGUS 4 can serve as a
universal tester for POTS, ISDN and ADSL.
The base price for the ARGUS 4 is EUR 990; the POTS and BRI
interface option costs EUR 400 and the U-interface option is another
EUR 150. The prices given above are net and do not include the
applicable VAT.

intec presents extended test functions for ADSL accesses

Luedenscheid (ots) - The number of DSL accesses is still growing rapidly. According to the DSL Forum, an international association of more than 300 companies active in the branch, DSL technology was already being used by roughly 46.7 million people worldwide by the summer of 2003 - and the growth was accelerating. High growth rates can be seen, in particular, in Western Europe. In this region, the number of DSL ...
