Bonn, 17. August 2022: DHL Supply Chain, der auf Kontraktlogistik spezialisierte Bereich von Deutsche Post DHL Group, hat in Florstadt bei Frankfurt am Main, seinen bestehenden Life Sciences & Healthcare (LSH) Campus weiter ausgebaut. Die neue Niederlassung erweitert den auf Pharma- und Medizinprodukte ausgelegten Multi-User-Campus um ein drittes Logistikzentrum mit einer Fläche von 32.000 m2. Das neue Logistikzentrum liegt fußläufig sowohl zu dem bestehenden Lager, das DHL seit 2015 für einen führenden Arzneimittelhersteller betreibt sowie zu einer zweiten Niederlassung, die im Januar 2018 ihren Betrieb aufgenommen hat und für verschiedene namhafte Kunden aus dem Medizin- und Gesundheitssektor tätig ist.
Der Multi-User-Campus bietet Platz für gleich mehrere Kunden, die effiziente Logistik in Deutschland, Europa oder weltweit benötigen. DHL bietet Anbietern von medizinischen und pharmazeutischen Produkten in Florstadt Komplettlösungen, angefangen von der üblichen Einlagerung und Kommissionierung, über Value Added Services, wie zum Beispiel Kitting, Labeling oder Sampling bis hin zu hochkomplexen, automatisierten Logistiklösungen.
Der Standort verfügt über eine Zulassung nach dem Bundes-Immissionsschutzgesetz (BImSchG). In einem dedizierten Bereich wurden dort Kapazitäten von 10.000 Palettenstellplätzen geschaffen. Zudem stehen rund um die Uhr verschiedene temperaturkontrollierte Bereiche – Ambient-, Kühl- und Tiefkühlbereiche für Temperaturen von bis zu minus 20 Grad – zur Verfügung. Auch Reinräume können auf Kundenwunsch eingerichtet werden.

Der Multi-User-Campus in Florstadt liegt rund 35 Kilometer entfernt vom Mittelpunkt der Wirtschaftsregion Frankfurt Rhein-Main und ist somit ideal an den Frankfurter Flughafen, das DHL Paket- und Express-Netzwerk sowie Schienen- und Autobahnnetze angebunden.

Das Gebäude wurde mit dem Gold-Standard der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Nachhaltiges Bauen (DGNB) ausgezeichnet. Es verfügt über eine 750 kWp starke Photovoltaikanlage, Wärmepumpen und ein 320 m2 großes Solar Luftsystem, die das klimaneutrale Lager kontinuierlich mit umweltfreundlicher Energie versorgen.
Der LSH-Campus Florstadt trägt zudem alle wesentlichen LSH-Zertifizierungen, wie z. B. GMP, GDP und ISO 13485, und bleibt bei sich ändernden Vorschriften stets auf dem Laufenden.

DHL Supply Chain expands its Life Sciences and Healthcare Campus in Florstadt, Germany

Bonn, August 17, 2022: DHL Supply Chain, the contract logistics specialist of Deutsche Post DHL Group, has further expanded its Life Sciences & Healthcare (LSH) Campus in Florstadt near Frankfurt am Main, Germany. The new branch adds a third, considerably-sized logistics center (32,000 square meters) to the multi-user campus specializing in pharmaceutical and medical products. The new center is within walking distance of both the existing warehouse, which DHL has operated since 2015 for a leading pharmaceutical company, and a second site that opened in January 2018 and serves various prominent customers in the medical and healthcare sector.
The multi-user campus simultaneously offers space for various customers requiring efficient logistics in Germany, Europe or worldwide. DHL provides single-source solutions in Florstadt to suppliers of medical and pharmaceutical products – from customary storage and order picking through value added services such as kitting, labeling or sampling to highly complex and highly automated logistics solutions.
The site is registered in accordance with the German Federal Immission Control Act (BImSchG). A capacity of 10,000 pallet locations has been established in one dedicated section of the facility. What’s more, different temperature-controlled zones – ambient, cooled and freezer areas for temperatures as low as minus 20 degrees Celsius – are available around the clock. Clean rooms can also be set up if requested by the customer.

The multi-user campus in Florstadt is located about 35 kilometers from the heart of the Frankfurt Rhine-Main economic region and offers ideal access to Frankfurt Airport, DHL’s parcel and Express network, and rail and highway networks.
“DHL Supply Chain offers a broad spectrum of services in Florstadt,” says Business Unit Director Murat Erzurumluoglu. “From specialized, manual processing and handling by our specially trained employees to fully automated solutions for pharmaceutical logistics. Chief Executive Officer Rainer Haag believes that the launch of the new logistics center “represents a further important step on the road to climate-neutrality for DHL Supply Chain’s sites.” The building was honored with the Gold Standard of the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB). It features a 750 kWp photovoltaic system, heat pumps and a 320-square-meter solar air heating system that continuously supply the carbon-neutral warehouse with environmentally friendly energy and a controlled climate.
The campus in Florstadt also holds all major LSH certifications, such as GMP, GDP and ISO 13485, and keeps abreast of changing regulations.
