Utl.: Why markets such as Asia, Latin America, and Eastern Europe are attractive for producers of digital products such as software and games =

Karlsruhe, September 24, 2009 (euro adhoc) - A team of experts from asknet AG has analyzed the eCommerce sectors of Asia, Latin America, and Eastern Europe and identified potential for enormous growth. As a leading provider of outsourcing solutions for the global electronic software distribution (ESD) industry, asknet regularly examines the market potential for online sales of digital products such as software. The company´s latest research concludes that the regions named above offer major eCommerce opportunities. This applies especially to digital products such as software, games, and music. The team of experts has produced three white papers that bring together information on individual countries with an analysis of the opportunities and risks presented by online sales.

eCommerce in the Countries of Asia With a population of approximately 1.3 billion, China has more inhabitants than any other nation - and it is home to almost 300 million Internet users, making it the world's largest online market as well. The potential of this growing market has not yet been fully exploited.

eCommerce in the Countries of Latin America Viewed with an eye to the online market, Latin America presents a number of contradictions. On the one hand, with almost 560 million inhabitants it represents only 7.4 percent of the world´s Internet users. On the other, this small market is growing faster than any other.

eCommerce in the Countries of Eastern Europe The countries of Eastern Europe currently find themselves in a stage between development and industrialization, which has had a motivating impact on the push towards the latter. In many ways they are still battling with the political, economic and social legacies and vestiges of socialism. However, there is a widespread interest in technical innovation that leads to the conclusion that eBusiness in Eastern Europe is currently standing on the brink of explosive growth.

Based on the results of the studies, asknet can offer special services to companies: using detailed information on these markets, asknet provides individualized support in analyzing and planning the company's successful entry into these online markets.
