RENK Group AG prioritizes continuity – Supervisory Board extends CEO Dr. Alexander Sagel’s contract early until 2032
Augsburg, May 11, 2026 – The Supervisory Board of RENK Group AG has announced its early extension of CEO Dr. Alexander Sagel’s contract by five years. Dr. Sagel, who has served as CEO of the RENK Group since February 1, 2025, will thus remain at the helm of the company until March 31, 2032.
Under the leadership of Dr. Sagel, the RENK Group has consistently pursued its strategic focus as a defense company and demonstrated its operational strength in a market environment characterized by exceptionally high demand. At the same time, the product portfolio has been systematically adapted to meet the requirements of the battlefield of the future under the NextGen Mobility technology and innovation agenda. Complemented by systematic internationalization and targeted M&A activities, RENK’s medium-term strategy until 2030 and beyond is being driven forward in a sustainable manner.
“Since taking office, Dr. Sagel has led the RENK Group with a clear strategic focus and strong execution skills. He ensured that the company remained capable of meeting demand when orders from our customers in the Bundeswehr, NATO, and international armed forces surged, while at the same time laying the groundwork for further profitable growth. By extending his contract early, we are ensuring continuity during a period of growth that is strategically crucial for RENK and the entire industry. Moreover, this move is a sign of our complete confidence in the work of our CEO,” said Claus von Hermann, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of RENK Group AG.
“I would like to thank the Supervisory Board for the trust they have placed in me. Over the past few months, we have shown that we deliver on our promises – strategically, operationally, and to our customers. My focus remains unchanged: to continue developing RENK as the most reliable partner to the defense industry and armed forces, and to consistently capitalize on the opportunities this market offers. I look forward to shaping the next phase of growth with my strong team,” said Dr. Sagel, CEO of RENK Group AG.
The decision comes at a time of extraordinary growth momentum. In fiscal year 2025, the RENK Group increased its consolidated revenue by 19.8% to €1.37 billion and set a new record for order intake at €1.57 billion. Adjusted EBIT rose by 21.7% to €230 million, with a margin of 16.9%. The company expects revenue for the 2026 fiscal year to rise further to over €1.5 billion.
