Berlin Brandenburg Airport and Media Frankfurt sign advertising alliance

Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg GmbH (FBB) and Media Frankfurt are forming a marketing alliance with powerful reach that enables advertisers to book combined campaigns for both locations from 2023 onwards.

Frankfurt am Main, 31st January 2023. Two strong partners have agreed to cooperate: Frankfurt as Germany's biggest airport as well as Berlin Brandenburg Airport Willy Brandt (BER) as airport of the German capital and the transportation hub of the Brandenburg region. Via Media Frankfurt, advertising customers can extend their brand appearances to the attractive target group of air travelers without additional effort and from one single source. Therefore, the highly frequented connection FRA – BER with eleven daily flights builds an ideal platform. Media Frankfurt is thus expanding its nationwide network for airport advertising in the German-speaking region by including one of the most relevant destinations.

Since both airports are important hubs in intercontinental and global air traffic, the alliance also offers interesting options to global companies and premium brands. "I am looking forward to working with FBB and hope to see many exciting campaigns. The combined offer with our advertising spaces will simplify media planning for many advertisers. This means that one booking process enables clients to cover a campaign at two German premium airports", explains Peer Schmitz-Kuo, Sales Director at Media Frankfurt.

Both airports represent innovative execution in media campaigns and offer a creative playground for eye-catching brand activities. The advertising spaces are positioned both in front of and behind the security control, which guarantees additional touch-points to other airport guests, pick-ups and friends of travelers. Almost 50 million passengers were handled at Frankfurt Airport in 2022, with BER adding another 20 million passengers. The top destinations are Frankfurt, Munich, Palma de Mallorca, Zurich and Amsterdam. The main airlines are Lufthansa and Eurowings, easyJet, Ryanair and Turkish Airlines.

"As the gateway to the capital and third largest airport location in Germany, BER is an extremely attractive partner for Media Frankfurt. Also, it opens the segment of political decision-makers to our advertising customers. The cooperation will link two of Germany's most important airports along the entire customer journey and underlines our position as Germany's most commercialized airport and innovation driver for airport media", stresses Martin Korosec, Managing Director of Media Frankfurt. "Our advertisers can take profit from the option to extend and manage their campaigns across airport borders in a one-stop-shop principle."
