Prime Video and LEONINE Studios sign multi-year licensing partnership
- Six months of exclusive SVOD rights for Prime Video in Germany and Austria within the pay-2 window
- All films from the LEONINE Studios theatrical slate with theatrical release dates starting January 1, 2026, and a package of premium home entertainment titles
- Additionally, non-exclusive SVOD rights for Prime Video to a wide range of high-profile library titles
Munich, March 18, 2026 – Prime Video and LEONINE Studios, one of Germany’s leading media companies, are continuing their existing partnership with the signing of a comprehensive multi-year licensing agreement. Prime Video has secured exclusive SVOD rights for a period of six months within the pay-2 window for LEONINE Studios’ upcoming theatrical slate in Germany and Austria. The exclusive agreement covers all films with a theatrical release starting January 1, 2026, and a package of premium home entertainment titles. In addition, the licensing agreement includes the non-exclusive SVOD rights to a wide range of selected library titles from LEONINE Studios’ diverse, first-class library.

The deal includes THE HOUSEMAID, the first major U.S. box office hit of 2026, which has now achieved more than 2 million admissions in Germany and Austria. Also part of the LEONINE Studios slate is the new A24 film THE DRAMA, starring Zendaya and Robert Pattinson, as well as the highly anticipated THE HUNGER GAMES – SUNRISE ON THE REAPING. German productions include, among others, the LEONINE Studios co-production EIN FAST PERFEKTER ANTRAG, which has consistently held top spots in the box office charts since its theatrical release on February 26, 2026, and the thriller THE METHOD (CORPUS DELICTI) from LEONINE Studios production banner Wiedemann & Berg Film, based on the bestselling novel of the same name by Juli Zeh. Directed by Lena Stahl (“My Son”) the film stars Hannah Herzsprung (“15 Years,” “Babylon Berlin”), Damian Hardung (“Maxton Hall,” “Stella: A Life”), Alexander Fehling (“Labyrinth of Lies,” “The Space Between the Lines”), Haley Louise Jones (“Dear Child,” “Sad Jokes”), and Christian Friedel (“The Zone of Interest,” “The White Lotus”). In addition to the star-studded cast, an equally remarkable team has come together behind the camera: cinematographer Philipp Haberlandt (“Black Mirror”), production designer Christian Goldbeck (Oscar® for “All Quiet on the Western Front”), costume designer Waris Klampfer (“My Son”), as well as composers Volker Bertelmann (Oscar® for “All Quiet on the Western Front,” Oscar®-nominated for “Conclave”) and Lennart Saathoff (“Instructions for Survival”). The film is produced by the successful duo Max Wiedemann and Quirin Berg and financially supported by DFFF, FFA, MBB, FFF Bayern and with support of the Production Incentives of the Czech Audiovisual Fund.
Library titles include film franchises such as ASTERIX AND OBELIX, THE EXPENDABLES, JOHN WICK and SCHOOL OF MAGICAL ANIMALS.
