PVA TePla AG - a manufacturer of silicon crystallization systems and vacuum and high-temperature systems - has, in the SICube, a high-temperature system for manufacturing silicon carbide (SiC) crystals. The crystals manufactured in the SiCube are mainly required by customers working in high-tech markets. Typical applications include high-performance electronics (e.g. hybrid and electric cars, air conditioning systems and photovoltaics) and optoelectronics, in which the specific properties of the silicon carbide material such as high thermal conductivity are of benefit. PVA TePla supplies two different types of system: HTCVD (high-temperature chemical vapor deposition) and HTCVT (high-temperature chemical vapor transport). These can each generate crystals with a diameter of up to 6 inches (150 mm). So far, two major manufacturers from Europe and Asia have been won as customers for this type of system. The SICube is a compact crystal growing system. It uses high-quality materials and component that offer numerous customer benefits thanks to their user-friendliness with an intuitive user interface and high process accuracy.
