Kevin O'Hara, Colin Williams Named to Level 3 Board of Directors
Broomfield, Colo. (ots-PRNewswire) - Level 3 Communications, Inc. (Nasdaq: LVLT) today announced that Kevin J. O'Hara, president and chief operating officer of Level 3, and Colin V. K. Williams, executive vice president, global services and systems of Level 3, have been named to the company's Board of Directors.
Mr. O'Hara, who has served as Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Level 3 since its inception was named President in July 2000. Prior to joining Level 3, he was president and CEO of MFS Global Network Services, a subsidiary of MFS Communications Company, Inc. Mr. O'Hara fills an open position on the Board. Mr. O'Hara's initial term as a director will expire at the 2003 annual meeting of stockholders.
Mr. Williams joined Level 3 in July 1998 as President and Chief Executive Officer of Level 3 International. Previously, Williams served as President and CEO, and then as Chairman of WorldCom International, Inc. Prior to that, he founded the international operations of MFS, which merged with WorldCom in 1996. Mr. Williams fills a position that was created when the Board voted recently to expand membership to 12. Mr. Williams' initial term will expire at the 2001 annual meeting of stockholders.
