    * 28.17 million DEM Revenues in First Nine Months * - 9.52 million DEM Pre-Tax Operating Result in first nine months * Advertising and E-Commerce Strongest Contributors of Sales in Q3 AG, Hamburg - AG experienced strong growth across all sectors - even during the summer months, which are well known for being a period of weak usage. In the third quarter, revenue from advertising and E-Commerce surpassed income, from connectivity sales commissions. AG achieved advertising sales of 3.72 million DEM during the third quarter: a 24 percent increase over the second quarter. E-Commerce turnover amounted to 1.97 million DEM, a 31 percent rise compared with the second quarter (1.51 million DEM). Commissions from connectivity sales rose by 9 percent during the third quarter 2000, to 5.04 million DEM compared with the previous quarter 4.61 million DEM. For the first nine months of the year 2000, this meant advertising revenue of 8.35 million DEM,4.24 million DEM from E-Commerce and 15.58 million from the connectivity sector. The figures add up to total turnover of more than 28.17 million DEM for the first three quarters of the year, significantly above target figures. During the same period last year, turnover was at 1.38 million DEM - this translates to a total gain of 1,934 percent. The pre-tax operating result is also above plan: for the first nine months, it lies at - 9.52 million DEM. The third quarter result was - 3.49 million DEM. During the third quarter, the number of active dial-up customers rose by 130,000 to more than 1.4 million at the end of September. Meanwhile, the number the registered users soared to over 1.8 million by the end of the third quarter. The online minutes have increased accordingly, to 2.43 billion for the third quarter a plus of 533 million minutes compared to the second quarter 1.9 billion minutes. According to a recent NetValue study, market reach lies at over 25 percent, i.e. more than a quarter of all German Internet users surfs to at least once a month. The successful portal counted an impressive 326 million Page Impressions for the third quarter. In the previous quarter, the number of Page Impressions was at 250 million. In all, AG is developing into one of the most transaction-oriented online services on the German market.
