The Board of Supervisory Directors of KfW prematurely extends the contract of KfW's CEO Dr Ulrich Schröder and decides on further issues regarding the composition of the Executive Board

- Renewal of contract with Dr Günther Bräunig - Dr Stefan Peiss newly appointed as Chief Risk Officer
Following the meeting of the Board of Supervisory Directors of KfW on 16 December 2015 the Board Chairman, Dr Wolfgang Schäuble, Federal Minister of Finance, and the Deputy Chairman, Sigmar Gabriel, Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy, made the following announcement:
Today, the Board of Supervisory Directors prematurely extended the contract of Dr Ulrich Schröder (63), CEO of KfW, until 31 December 2020. Dr Schröder was first appointed to the KfW Executive Board as Chief Executive Officer of KfW on 1 September 2008.
The Board of Supervisory Directors also extended the contract of Dr Günther Bräunig (60) as member of the KfW Executive Board until 30 June 2021. Dr Bräunig has been member of the KfW Executive Board since 1 October 2006 and is responsible, among others, for the Capital markets, Law and Human Resources divisions.
In addition, the Board of Supervisory Directors has appointed Dr Stefan Peiss (46) member to the KfW Executive Board from 1 January 2016. As Chief Risk Officer (CRO), he will be responsible for the Risk Management and Controlling, Transaction Management and Portfolio Credit Service divisions. His contract runs until 31 December 2019.
Dr Stefan Peiss has many years of experience and broad expertise in the area of bank risk management. As Head of Division at KfW, he has already been contributing to the reorganization of the bank's risk management and controlling during the last years. Before joining KfW, he had already worked in various leading positions in the risk management division of Bayerische Landesbank.
The Board of Supervisory Directors would expressly like to thank the KfW Executive Board for their work and wishes the Executive Board in its new composition every success for the future.
