    Nuremberg (ots Ad hoc-Service) -

After the excellent growth of the previous year, financial year 2000 has once again seen the GfK Group achieving a significant increase in its preliminary key figures. Total revenue is up 24.3%, to Euro 483 m thereby clearly surpassing the forecast, which had been revised upwards by a total of Euro 20 m to Euro 470 m during the course of the financial year. A like for like comparison with the previous year excluding the IPO costs is even more encouraging. EBIT, including income from participations, was up 45.3% from Euro 26.7 m to Euro 38.8 m, with the EBIT margin rising accordingly from 7.0% to 8.2%.

With the final tax liability running at approximately the level of the previous year and negative net interest income, net income for the year will rise by around 70% to more than Euro 23 m. In the past ten years, the GfK Group has recorded dynamic growth, with total performance doubling every five years. In 1990, foreign business accounted for 18 per cent of total revenue, whereas today, this figure is 63%. In the year 2000, internationalization was reflected by 13 acquisitions and increased shareholdings in companies outside Germany. Dr. Klaus L. Wübbenhorst, Chief Executive Officer of the GfK Group, commented: 'The GfK Group believes that it has a good chance of sustaining this five year cycle and regards total revenue of around Euro 1 billion as achievable for 2005. In addition to the increased volume of business, EBIT, including income from participations, will also clearly rise to more than Euro 100 m, to break through the 10% barrier in 2005'. The year 2001 has started particularly well for the GfK Group. The order books of companies included in the current Group consolidation are already running at 39% of the total performance forecast, whereas in the previous year, this figure was 37%. GfK is aiming at total revenue in excess of Euro 550 m for the current year, which represents an increase of more than 15%. GfK also intends to outperform the organic growth of the sector, which has been forecast at between 6% and 8%.
