ETS Global Institute Launches Second Year With Shorter Courses
Princeton, N.J. (ots-PRNewswire) - After a successful first year, the ETS Global Institute has decided to offer shorter versions of three of its courses, in an effort to make the institute's resources available to a wider number of educators.
The ETS Global Institute opened in July 1999. Its mission involves advancing the field of testing and assessment by making ETS's resources available to educators, policymakers, and testing professionals worldwide. To date, groups from Nicaragua, Saudi Arabia, Cyprus, Chile, and other countries have patronized the institute.
Most recently the institute offered courses titled "Development and Management of Large-Scale Assessment Programs," "Developing a National Assessment Program," and, "Testing and Social Policy." While these five-day courses proved popular, attendees this past year indicated a desire for some shorter courses.
In response, the institute has announced that it will offer three shorter courses for the first half of 2001. They include:
-- Developing High-Stakes Admissions and Selection Testing
- January 22-24
-- Psychometric Methods for High-Stakes Tests - April 23-25
-- Development of Computer-Based Testing Programs - June 11-13
"The Global Institute extends ETS's mission of promoting education for improved testing to a worldwide audience," explained Administrative Director Rod Ballard email@example.com. "It has been a rewarding first year as our staff increased awareness of testing issues and international standards for assessment. These new courses will offer even greater academic outreach to professionals worldwide."
