    Kontron Embedded Computers AG, one of the world's leading suppliers of miniaturized computers, now holds 100 % of the shares of Rotec Industrieautomation GmbH, the software development house in Rastatt. The board announced that PEP Modular Computers GmbH, a part of the Kontron group since September 1st, has increased their holding in Rotec from 50 to 100 %. The transfer of the new shareholding takes effect retrospectively from January 1st 2000. According to chairman of the board Hannes Niederhauser, Kontron is following two strategic targets with the takeover of Rotec. "First of all, to strengthen our business in the automation sector, and secondly, to strengthen the proportion of software development in the embedded computer technology, to reach a higher level of value added." Rotec Industrieautomation GmbH develops, among other things, user-friendly operating interfaces for automation, and achieves a net return of 10 % on a turnover of approximately 10 million DM, with 30 employees, mostly engineers.
