Andrew Fiocco did it. At the World Championships in Bench Pressing, the World Powerlifting Congress in Florida, the student from Jacobs University Bremen won the title in his weight class. The 21-year-old lifted more than twice his body weight: 140 kilograms with an own weight of 65.6 kilograms.

"It was a great experience. I could meet athletes from all over the world who share the same passion as me," says Andrew, who grew up in Connecticut and currently studies "International Relations: Politics and History" at Jacobs University in Bremen.

Because he is enrolled at a German university, the US American competed for Germany in his home country. He has also already set himself new sporting goals: Gold at the European Championships next year.
