Aston Martin V8 and DB5 triumph at the MotorKlassik Awards 2020

25 March 2020: The iconic 1965 Aston Martin DB5 has once again been successful at the MotorKlassik Awards in the category ‘Auction car of the year’. The iconic DB5, made its first appearance in the third James Bond movie, Goldfinger (1964), has been voted number one by 33.7 % of the readers of the prestigious German automotive magazine MotorKlassik for the fourth year in a row.

In the category ‘Classic Coupes’, the 1972 Aston Martin V8, also takes a win with 25.1 % of the readers having voted for the true British muscle-car which is starring in the upcoming James Bond movie.

Due to the current situation and as a precautionary measure, the magazine’s award ceremony did not take place and the awards will be presented at a later date.

Thomas Kiesele, President of Aston Martin Europe said: “These awards show the love for the heritage of Aston Martin and underline their timeless design. We thank the readers of MotorKlassik for their votes and their appreciation for our brand. With our Aston Martin Vantage, we are looking back to a long legacy and are celebrating 70 years of Vantage this year and will be launching the latest Vantage Roadster this spring.”
