WEB.DE continues its rapid growth - 600,000 new registered customers since January 2000 WEB.DE, one of the most visited German-speaking Internet portals is continuing its rapid growth trend. Over 230,000 new customers (+35.9%) registered at WEB.DE in March. At the end of March, WEB.DE had a total of just under 880,000 registered users. "That's more than 600,000 new registered users in the first three months of this year alone. March saw the highest number of new registrations," says Matthias Greve, CEO at WEB.DE AG, Karlsruhe. "We expect the number of registered users to top 1 million in April already. The analysts of the lead banks of our IPO expected this figure to only be reached at the end of 2000."
WEB.DE also significantly increased the number of its page impressions. In march, this number reached 100 million for the first time. WEB.DE users generated a total of over 108 million page impressions (+35.7%) in March. Let's compare this to December 1999: WEB.DE generated 36 million page impressions at the millennium. In the first quarter of 2000, page impressions and registered users increased three-fold. The number of visits rose by just under 6.5 million (+34.0%) to 25.5 million. A comparison over three months underpins the marked upsurge. In December WEB.DE's figures for visits per month were still under 10 million.
