Eckert & Ziegler AG, a leading manufacturer of low- level radiation sources for medical and industrial applications, has acquired 25,1% of ISOTOPEN DIENST Blaseg GmbH. The company, which is based near Ravensburg, has specialized in the sales of radioactive components and will take over the responsibility for the distribution of Eckert & Ziegler AG's industrial sealed sources in Europe. As a preparation for this step Eckert & Ziegler AG recently concentrated all industrial manufacturing activities in its subsidiaries CESIO s.r.o, Prague, and Isotope Products Laboratories Inc., Los Angeles. "Concentrating the industrial and scientific activities in Prague and Los Angeles offers the chance to focus all our resources in Berlin on the development and production of oncological and cardio-vascular components", explains CEO Dr. Andreas Eckert. "We are seeing a tremendous interest in this sector, and want to make sure that we can supply a sufficient capacity for our customers." Eckert & Ziegler AG plans to present its annual results of 1999 on March 29, 2000.
