ots Ad hoc-Service: TELES AG <DE0007454902> TELES and VOBIS cooperate in Value-Added Internet Services

Berlin (ots Ad hoc-Service) -

Ad hoc-announcement edited and sent by DGAP. The sender is solely

TELES and VOBIS have just signed a
far-reaching cooperation contract for the sale and service of TELES'
innovative value-added Internet services through all VOBIS' PC market
access points.
VOBIS AG, Germany's leading independent PC specialist supplier,
will considerably extend and aggressively market its expertise in
value-added Internet services within the scope of this contract: For
each of its regional branches VOBIS will train without delay several
highly qualified Internet experts for sales, servicing and consulting
at the TELES Internet Academy. This will make VOBIS the only large,
all-round full-service Internet/eCommerce service provider with
blanket coverage in Germany, and thus particularly ideal for all
regionally operating medium-sized enterprises.
With this cooperation the TELES Group, awarded the distinction
"Center of Excellence in Telecommunications" many times over, is
opening up and further securing highly efficient sales and service
channels for its value-added Internet services in the three sectors
WebHosting/eCommerce, WebHighspeedAccess (via skyDSL or T-DSL) and
WebLearning. Their whole value creation chains, from their conception
and development through their marketing and delivery to their sales
and services, these three groups of innovative value-added Internet
services represent TELES' core business since the reorganisation of
the group in the summer of this year.
The recent acquisitions of the Apple retail chain GRAVIS (annual
revenues of approx. DM 100 million) and the mainstream wholesaler
MORE! (annual revenues of approx. DM 200 million) and now intense
cooperation with VOBIS (annual revenues of approx. DM 1,100 million)
are all part of TELES' reorganisation measures. These three companies
will - taking as a starting point over 170 owned outlets and over
7,000 outlets to whom they have business relations - by the end of
2001 have built up, qualified and got operational a closely-knit,
unbroken network of altogether 1,500 high-quality PC/Apple specialist
suppliers in Germany for the sale and the support of these three
groups of value-added Internet services.
An intense marketing campaign in all media for these three groups
of TELES' very innovative value-added Internet services with an even
more innovative sales concept will be launched at a press conference
for the opening of TIA (TELES Internet Academy) early in November in
Berlin, i.e. in time for this year's Christmas trade.
The effects of the new sales channels on this year's business
development are outlined in TELES' semi-annual report as at
30.06.2000. For its immediate future, this cooperation with VOBIS
represents a significant concretisation of the expected revenue and
profit growth. The new structure of the TELES Group and the expected
development of the group until 2002 can be found in detail under
http://www.teles.de. An open moderated forum is also available on
TELES' homepage from today for in-depth discussion between investors
and the management board regarding the company reorganisation and
associated development plans.
