Vodafone makes videos available to all
Vodafone Videotheque has a new billing system
Free content can now be easily accessed without advance registration.

The Vodafone Videotheque is now open to all web users. This applies to both mobile video products and products for the home PC. Purchased or loaned content is either billed via the ClickandBuy pay list or via the Vodafone customer's monthly mobile phone bill. What is more, easy access without registration is now available to the 800 free of charge videos and series that are currently in the Videotheque. At the IFA, Vodafone will be giving away vouchers for registered users for the free use of the cult comic movie "Hellboy" until 17 September 2009.
The Vodafone Videotheque can be found at http://videothek.vodafone.de/ or accessed via the Vodafone live! Portal http://m.videothek.vodafone.de. It currently has around 3,000 blockbusters, documentaries and series in various genres. 800 of these are advertisement financed content which can be used free of charge without registration. Many of the latest movies are available at the time of their release on DVD. It's up to the customer whether he watches the content on his way home from work or at his home PC. For example, if you start watching a movie on your mobile phone, you can seamlessly continue watching it at home on the PC. The 24-hour lending rate is only 99 cents for TV series and EUR 1.99 for movies, plus connection costs, and there's something for everyone in the Videotheque. Free content is available to all internet users and you can watch it any number of times in the 24-hour loan period.
Customers can both loan and purchase videos. If they purchase, the entire video is downloaded to a PC or laptop and stored there.
Vodafone's video products are based on Microsoft Silverlight technology which guarantees excellent convenience of use. For example, users can switch between chapters or languages while the video is playing.
All that you need to use the Videotheque is internet access (not included in the offer) with a speed of at least 2 mbit/s and Windows Media Player in version 10 or higher.
