Telekom Austria enlarges its Internet customer base

Vienna (ots) - Subject to the approval of all relevant authorities, Jet2Web Internet, Telekom Austria's Internet subsidiary, and Lion.cc, the Internet subsidiary of Libro AG, have agreed for Jet2Web Internet to take over all of Lion's 70,000 free&easy customers. During a transition period up until the end of this year, content and platform will be used jointly. After that all free&easy customers will be integrated into the jet2web platform. With this deal Jet2Web Internet will increase its market leadership in the residential Internet market from 28% to 32%. The two parties have agreed not to disclose the commercial details of the deal. In contrast to some media reports Telekom Austria has no plans to reduce its stake in Libro AG. Note to Editors Telekom Austria is Austria's leading provider of telecommunications services.
