München (ots Ad hoc-Service) - The Kontron Embedded Computers AG, one of the leading suppliers of miniaturized computers worldwide, has made a binding contractual agreement on taking over 51%  of the Taiwanese Industrial Solutions Provider Lim. (ISPRO), Taipeh. As stated by the Kontron Board, 2.5 million US-Dollar are paid in to increase the ISPRO capital. ISPRO produces stationary embedded computers and achieved a turnover of approx. 9 million DM with an EBIT of about 7 per cent of turnover in the past business year.          According to Kontron Board, the acquisition of ISPRO means an important strategic step in addition to the already existing 55% subsidiary of TMC Ltd., Taipeh. While TMC's product range is in the field of Embedded Computer Boards (ECBs), ISPRO offers complete embedded computer systems. The distribution channels of ISPRO in the Far East are particularly good and ISPRO will also take  over the sales of mobile embedded computers of the Kontron group in Asia. It is  planned that TMC and ISPRO merge into 'Kontron Asia' by the end of this year. Against this background, Kontron regards itself as the second biggest supplier of embedded computer technology in Asia.          In the USA as well, the Eching group is confirmed that its acquisition policy is  good: Fieldworks Inc. (Minneapolis) is specialized in the production of mobile embedded computers and quoted on NASDAQ stock market. Kontron has had a 65% share in that company since the end of last year. It was able to make a turnaround in the first quarter of 2001 and achieved a turnover of 11 million DM (Q1/00 9.4 million DM) and a profit after tax of 1.2 million DM (Q1/00 loss of 4.9 million DM).               - WKN: 523990; Index: NEMAX 50 Listed: Neuer Markt in Frankfurt; Freiverkehr in Berlin, Bremen, Düsseldorf, Hamburg, Hannover, München, Stuttgart
