ots Ad hoc-Service: Kontron embedded computer Kontron Acquires Shares in Taiwanese TMC

Corp (TMC), Taipei. According to the Management Board, Kontron acquired 2 million shares at a price of appr. DM 2.4 million in form of a capital increase at TMC. It is the target of the two companies that Kontron will acquire the majority interest in TMC latest by spring 2001. In addition, the companies decided on a cooperation agreement in which TMC will provide production capacities and purchasing services to the strongly growing Kontron company group. From this commitment, Kontron's management expects large production capacities at competitive prices and a successful entry into the attractive Asian market. TMC was founded in the early 1980s and specializes in the development and production of embedded computer boards for the logistic, transport and automation market. Last year, the company achieved revenues of more than 100 million DM.
