Medien LIVE in Cologne - coming up shortly...
The weekend of the
media - live and free of charge for every member of the family
Cologne (ots) - 23. and 24. June: The media world opens its gates
at the Tanzbrunnengelände of KölnMesse: Medien LIVE 2001, the biggest
media event in Germany, invites you to travel through the interesting
world of well-known film- and TV productions as well as the digital
Radio and Internet world.
The visitors will be presented with a versatile programme:
autographs, games, special activities, concerts, shows, product
novelties and a world of information. Before the medienforum NRW
starts, interested visitors can get to know the great media world and
have a glimpse behind the scenes. Medien LIVE - the name itself
stands for the programme: media activities in which you can actively
participate, stars you can talk to, information about media
professions and fun, fun, fun!
With more than 300.000 visitors, Medien LIVE turned into the
biggest public media event in Germany. Contrary to the years before,
the multitude of media organisations does not present Medien LIVE any
more in the city and the historic part of Cologne. The organisations
moved the event to the Tanzbrunnengelände of KölnMesse.
The organisers of Medien LIVE, the Staatskanzlei of the federal
state of Northrhine Westphalia (NRW) and the Landesanstalt für
Rundfunk NRW, made a programme their priority that was created for
the families, above all. TV companies, e.g. Super RTL and the Disney
Channel, provide the proper care for the children and special
activities for the youngest visitors in the 'Kinderland'. The big
Saturday night VIVA concert with hot music from bands like "Right
Said Fred" and "Loona" will attract a young audience. Another
attraction is the traditional event 'Medienberufe/Hochschultreff von
Generation M': 70 organisations provide information about the job
possibilities, ways to get there and further education offers of the
media and communications industry.
The Medien LIVE 2001programme, a map of the territory and a lot of
further information can be found on www.medienlive.de.
Note for the editors: Prof. Dr. Miriam Meckel, Secretary of the
State of Northrhine Westphalia, will be present at Medien LIVE on
Saturday, 23. June. Meeting-place: Gate of the Generation M Hall, 14
