Ravi Sethi Named President of Avaya Labs

Avaya Labs starts with more than 3,000 R&D professionals in the Avaya technical community who were formerly part of Bell Labs. Ravi Sethi has been named president of Avaya Labs. Prior to this appointment, Sethi was senior vice president, Communications Sciences Research, at Bell Labs, where he led a team of 300 researchers in areas such as data networks, network management, software systems, and multimedia communications. Sethi holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, specializing in Computer Science, from Princeton University and a Bachelor of Technology degree from the Indian Institute of Technology in Kanpur, India. He is the co-author of the influential textbooks, "Compilers: Principles, Techniques and Tools" and the author of "Programming Languages: Concepts and Constructs."
