E-Business and Logistics Expertise from one Source:
Integration of the consulting know-how of Pixelpark AG and Zentrum
für Logistik und Unternehmensplanung (ZLU) GmbH
Pixelpark AG is acquiring 100% of the shares in Zentrum für
Logistik und Unternehmensplanung (ZLU) GmbH and is integrating its
comprehensive logistics expertise into the international Pixelpark
network. The goal is to provide clients with a complete range of
services - from e-business strategy, business processes optimisation
and the implementation of Internet business models to a smoothly
running logistics system. Together, Pixelpark and ZLU distinguish
themselves as a business innovator for end-to-end-commerce.
The Zentrum für Logistik und Unternehmensplanung (ZLU) is a
rapidly-growing European leader in logistics, supply chain management
and business process optimisation. Based in Berlin, ZLU currently
employs a workforce of 120 at locations in Berlin, Sao Paulo (Brazil)
and Boston (USA). In 1999, ZLU achieved a turnover of DM 26.9 million
and provisional pre-tax results of DM 5.4 million. Pixelpark and ZLU
have enjoyed a close business relationship for years. Today, both
companies work intensively with international blue chip clients who
are currently making significant investments in e-business. These
clients include adidas-Salomon, BASF and Unilever.
One of today's major barriers to growth in the new economy is the
poor performance of fulfilment and logistics systems. Last year the
Christmas business done by online retailers was characterised around
the world by late and wrong deliveries as well as high levels of
returns, all of which generated enormous costs.
Against the backdrop of the logistics demands of global e-commerce
solutions, the combined range of products and services provided by
Pixelpark AG and ZLU will find an extremely attractive growth market.
At the same time, ZLU will be able to offer a wider range of Internet
capabilities to its customers in its traditional consulting services
segment. The two business will combine their individual strengths
with important synergy effects, which will be reflected in a single
range of products and services for end-to-end-commerce.
