ots Ad hoc-Service: realTech AG realTech increases revenue by 68% in the first quarter of FY 2000

The sender is solely responsible for the contents of this announcement. ----------------------------------------------------- Frankfurt am Main / Walldorf (ots Ad hoc-Service) - realTech AG, the Walldorf-based company that provides Technology Consulting (R/3,, ERM-Software and Outsourcing, posted a 68% increase in revenue for the first quarter of FY 2000. Consolidated revenue increased to EURO 9.4 million compared with the EURO 5.6 million that were achieved during the same period last year. Revenue from in- house developed software increased by 115% to EURO 0.8 million. Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) came in at EURO 0.99 million which is comparable to the results that were achieved during the previous year. Earnings before income tax (EBIT) dropped 67% to EURO 0.29 million, which is within expectations. The charges incurred by realTech Inc. in the U.S. and realTech Australasia Pty Ltd. in Australia overshadowed the positive development of the results in Europe and New Zealand. Operating income was additionally burdened by substantial investments in the Marketing, Sales and R&D departments. realTech posted a net loss of EURO 150 thousand, which is mainly due to the fact that foreign subsidiary losses were not carried forward. The decision not to distribute the losses between the group companies resulted in a tax ratio that exceeded 100%. Per March 31, 2000, realTech employed 411 people, 191 of which are employed by its foreign subsidiaries. This means that realTech's staff grew by 41 employees since the beginning of the year. Revenue for fiscal year 2000 is planned to increase to EURO 42 million.
