The contracts for the take over of this strong competitor on the north American market were signed last weekend. Now technotrans will be present in three locations: Atlanta / Georgia, Chicago / Illinois and in Los Angeles / California. The acquired companies will from now on form the new subsidiary of the technotrans-Group: technotrans america westcoast inc.. As a competence centre for the production, sales and support of products dedicated to the sheet-fed segment of the American printing industry, technotrans america westcoast will capitalise on this expertise as a basis for future success and strong growth. The north american market alone accounts for 28 percent of the potential worldwide. Furthermore with this acquisition technotrans steps into the infrared dryer technology as an addition to the established product portfolio. This will be complemented by a co-operation with the German IST Metz GmbH, the world leading supplier of UV dryer technology. Infrared dryers for sheetfed presses currently represent a worldwide market potential in excess of 100 million Euro. In the last financial year the revenues of the acquired companies reached 6 million US-Dollars. They were profitable and will make above average contribution to the Group's growth of revenue and profit in the next years. The financial targets of the technotrans Group for 2001 (revenue of 135 million Euro, net profit of 8 to 8.5 million Euro), which had been published earlier, already incorporate the new subsidiary with a basic revenue of 6 million Dollar. After depreciation of goodwill and financing the company is expected to contribute to the Group's net profit in 2001. Half of the purchase price will be paid with technotrans shares from a capital increase. The vendors have agreed upon long term binding periods and will continue their contribution to ensure the successful development of the company in the future.
