ots Ad hoc-Service: STADA Arzneimittel AG STADA and Dowelhurst set up sales joint venture for generics in Great Britain

The sender is solely responsible for the contents of this announcement. ----------------------------------------------------- Bad Vilbel / Hessen (ots Ad hoc-Service) - The publicly-quoted, Bad Vilbel-based pharmaceuticals company STADA made up a joint venture in Great Britain for the marketing of generic drugs. Its partner in this is the privately-owned Dowelhurst Group, which until now has primarily been involved in wholesale trade on the British pharmaceutical market. STADA has a 51% stake in the joint venture, and Dowelhurst 49%. STADA will licence to the JV the distribution of its own extensive generics range, while Dowelhurst will take responsibility for the JV logistics and promote the JV products through its own distribution structure and its own sales team. With the establishment of this JV in Great Britain, STADA has secured another step forward in the accelerated construction of its own distribution structures on all the major European generics markets. With distribution channels in Germany, the Netherlands, France, Belgium, Austria, Denmark, Ireland, Spain, Italy and now in Great Britain too, STADA is now better placed to participate in the Europe- wide trend for generics than any other European supplier of generic drugs before it. This means that STADA will be able to achieve a Europe- wide payback on its heavy investments in new products and, thanks to EU- wide development and marketing, exploit economies of scale to reduce costs.
