The second quarter continued the successful trend shown in the beginning of the fiscal year, and amounted to DM 24.5 million, an increase of DM 14.6 million, or 147 %, over the same period last year and DM 10.9 million, or 80 %, over the first quarter 2000. Compared with fiscal 1999, half-yearly sales have increased by DM 22.3 million, or 141 %, to a total of DM 38.1 million. With this, the Group has nearly reached the previous years total sales (DM 40.7 million) in the first six months of the current fiscal year alone. The high-margin license share of sales increased considerably to 25.6 %. Despite sustained large investments, the loss for the quarter could be significantly reduced. The loss before taxes decreased by 32 %, from DM 8.8 million to DM 6.0 million. The loss after taxes could be reduced by 30 %, to DM 3.9 million. With this, the Group also exceeded its plans with respect to the consolidated net result. These figures confirm the assumption of the Executive Board that the sales target for 2000, which was just recently increased by 33 % to DM 120 million, as well as the targeted break even point can be reached.
