Origin Merchant Partners Announces the Appointment of the Honourable Joe Oliver as Chairman
Toronto (ots/PRNewswire) - Origin Merchant Partners is pleased to announce the appointment of the Honourable Joe Oliver, former Minister of Finance and Minister of Natural Resources for the Government of Canada, as Chairman of its Advisory Board.
Mr. Oliver brought a wealth of capital markets and securities regulatory experience to his role as Canada's Minister of Finance. He oversaw the first annual surplus since 2007 and then presented a budget that was balanced fiscally and socially. While Minister of Natural Resources, Mr. Oliver promoted the diversification of Canadian export markets for the energy, mining, and forestry sectors to drive economic growth and job creation.
As Chairman of the Advisory Board, Mr. Oliver will provide strategic advice to Origin Merchant Partners' domestic and international clients and insight on government legislation, regulations and policies that can impact strategic business decisions.
